Rice Kheer is a creamy and aromatic rice dessert that is similar to the British Rice Pudding. Using basmati rice, its tasty and indulgent.

Ingredients

1l whole fat milk
100g Kohinoor Basmati Rice
6 green cardamom pods
1 tin condensed milk
100g sugar
50g almonds, roughly chopped
50g unsalted pistachios, roughly chopped

Method

  • Wash and soak the basmati rice in lukewarm water for 30 minutes
  • Heat the milk in a thick bottomed pan, stirring continuously, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow the milk to thicken
  • Once the milk is reduced to 3/4, add the soaked rice and the cardamom pod seeds
  • Keep cooking and stirring continuously for 20-25 minutes until the rice is cooked
  • Add the condensed milk and sugar
  • Remove from the pan into a container to chill
  • Serve in dishes sprinkled with almonds and pistachios
